Replacing a Single Node in a Cluster

Follow these steps to replace a single node in a cluster backup.

  1. If the node that you want to replace is still functioning, follow these steps to remove the node.
    1. Choose a controller that will remain in the cluster.
    2. Log on to that controller's web interface as an administrator.
    3. Go to System > Cluster.
    4. Locate the node that you want to replace in the cluster planes.
    5. Click Delete to remove the node from the cluster.
  2. If the node that you want to replace is out of service, you will need to shut it down before you can replace it. Follow these steps.
    1. On the node that you want to replace, log on to the CLI as a system administrator.
    2. Run the enable command to enable privileged mode on the CLI.
      ruckus> enable
      Password: ********
      ruckus#
    3. (Optional) Back up the current controller system.
    4. On the node that you want to replace, run the shutdown command.
      ruckus# shutdown
    5. Log on to the controller web interface as a system administrator.
    6. Go to System > Cluster.
    7. Locate the node that you want to replace in teh cluster planes.
    8. Click Delete to remove the node from the cluster.
