To enable DPSK for a WLAN:
Expand the WiFi Networks section, and click
Create (or Edit an existing
Select Standard for Usage Type, and
either Open/WPA2 for Authentication
and Encryption method, or 802.1X EAP
for authentication against an external RADIUS server.
Click Show advanced options, then select the
Zero-IT & DPSK tab.
Next to Dynamic PSK, enable the check box next to
Enable Dynamic PSK with ___ character passphrase, and
enter a PSK passphrase length (between 8 and 62 characters).
Choose whether to use Secure DPSK or Mobile
- Secure DPSK: Includes almost all printable ASCII
characters, including periods, hyphens, dashes, etc. This option is more
secure, however it is difficult to input for mobile clients whose keyboards
may not contain the entire set of printable ASCII characters.
- Mobile Friendly DPSK: Choose this option if this
WLAN will be used for mobile clients. This option limits the range of
characters to lower case and upper case letters and numbers, which makes it
easier for users to input the DPSK when activating a mobile client to a
Zero-IT WLAN. (You may also want to limit the DPSK length to 8 characters
for the convenience of your mobile client users.)
Expire DPSK: Set when the DPSK should expire. In
Validity period, choose whether the DPSK expiration
period will start from first use or creation time.
Limit DPSK: By default each authenticated user can
generate multiple DPSKs. Select this option to limit the number of DPSKs each
user can generate (1-4).
Click OK to save your changes.
This WLAN is now ready to authenticate users using Dynamic Pre-Shared Keys once
their credentials are verified against either the internal database or an external AAA
