IGMP proxy configuration notes

When using IGMP Proxy, you must do the following.

  1. Configure PIM on all multicast client ports to build the group membership table. The group membership table will be reported by the proxy interface. Refer to Globally enabling and disabling PIM.
  2. Enable IP multicast on an interface to an upstream router that will be the IGMP proxy interface and configure IGMP Proxy on that interface.
