Configuring a DNS entry

You can configure the Ruckus device to recognize up to four Domain Name System (DNS) servers. The first entry serves as the primary default address. If a query to the primary address fails to be resolved after three attempts, the next DNS address is queried (also up to three times). This process continues for each defined DNS address until the query is resolved. The order in which the default DNS addresses are polled is the same as the order in which you enter them.

To configure DNS, perform the following steps.

  1. Click Configure on the left pane and select IP .
  2. Click DNS .

    The DNS window is displayed as shown in the figure below.

  3. Type the domain name in the Domain Name field.
  4. Click ipv4 or ipv6 for Address Format .
  5. Type the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the DNS in the Server Search List fields.
  6. Click Apply .

    The message The change has been made is displayed. To reset the data entered in the configuration pane, click Reset .
